Carl Linnaeus is a member of Swedish Academy of art and one of its founders (1739), member of the French Academy of sciences (1762) and a member of a number of science societies and academies. He is the most famous Swedish scientist, naturalist and a doctor who has created a system of classification of flaura and fauna, plants and animal kingdoms. He has achived a world-wide fame during his lifetime. He is appreciated as a traveller who has discovered for Swedes their own country, researched pecuriarity of the provinces. Descriptions of his travellings, his journal writings have been publishing so far.
