The area of the study is 23.5 m2. It is the largest room in the cabin. There is an oak table, made by Russian masters of the early 18th century, in the centre of the room. On the tabletop there are a copper camp inkpot with a case for a goose-quill, a candlestick, sun-dial and a model of a cannon-mortar (such cannons were used while assaulting the most fortified fortresses during the Great Northern War). A boxwood tobacco-pipe is of great interest. The pipe’s body is decorated with reliefs depicting genre scenes: woman sitting, couple kissing, a man with a walking stick and a house. According to a legend, Alexander Menshikov presented Peter I with this skilfully made thing. Near the table there is an arm-chair of pear-wood, created by the tsar. On a wall there is a portrait of Peter I painted in the period when the cabin was being built.
