Room 28
Room 28Vasily Vereschagin (1842–1904) followed his own personal paths in art, ones without precedent in Russian painting. Vereschagin was widely travelled and a witness of many battle scenes. The subjects of his pictures are war and its tragedies (Shipka-Sheynovo. Skobelev at Shipka. Before 1890) and the lives of the peoples of various nations (At the Doors of a Mosque, 1873). |
