Room 31Grigory Myasoyedov (1834–1911) - one of the founding members of the Society of Travelling Art Exhibitions in his large canvas Scythers (1887) discovered a possibility of more general and monumental representation of a genre scene. The artist celebrated the bright side of human being, depicted beauty of peasant’s work. Created by Konstantin Savitsky (1844–1905) painting To the War (1880−1888) became a reaction of the artist to the events related to the Russian-Turkish war started in 1877. |
