The Small Drawing Room
The Small Drawing RoomThe Small Drawing Room This room was designed by the architect Andrei Voronikhin for Count Pavel Stroganov at the beginning of the 19th century. The walls are faced with artificial marble of warm colours; ten-figured bas-reliefs in lunettes adorn the room. The mirror planes (in the pier between the windows and above the fireplace) illusorily expand the small area of the room. Semyon Teglev, Ivan Terebenev, Mikhail Alexandrov-Uvazhny were among the creators of the sculptural decor. |
