Dining room
Dining roomThe room was used for family dinners with a small number of guests. The walls of the room are draped in grey cloth recreated after the samples of the early 18th century. After the fashion of that time the walls are decorated with faience plates (Delft’s factories production) and picturesque still-lifes by Dutch artists. The room is furnished with the English oak cabinet of the late 18th century and a walnut case for kitchen linen carved by Russian craftsmen. A Russian walnut table is situated in the middle of the room. There are household appliances of the early 18th century on the table: tin plates (Russian), a toby (German), glass bulbs and wineglasses (Russian and German). The left wall has a window slot for transferring dishes from the kitchen. |
